ALTAEROS, L3HARRIS DEMONSTRATE EO/IR MODULAR SIGHTING SYSTEM ONBOARD AUTONOMOUS AEROSTAT
L3Harris successfully demonstrates WESCAM MX™-10 RSTA electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) system integration with Altaeros’ ST-Flex Guardian Class Autonomous Aerostat for US Government.
Fremont, New Hampshire, USA – L3Harris Technologies and Autonomous Aerostat Innovator, Altaeros, announced the successful integration and demonstration of a WESCAM MX-10 RSTA EO/IR modular sighting system onboard an ST-Flex Guardian Class Autonomous Aerostat.
Conducted at Altaeros’ Research and Development Center for US Government and military partners, the rapid equipping exercise showcased the payload being fastened to the ST-Flex in less than 30 minutes and then launched to a height of 1000ft AGL. At this height, imaging operators highlighted mission-critical capabilities of the WESCAM MX-10 such as short-wave infrared, image blending, automatic video tracking and target identification at a distance of over 20 miles. The ST-Flex provided all power and a fiber optic connection to the EO/IR sensor system while in flight.
